A Kentucky woman told New Jersey state jurors that LifeCell skipped important safety steps while designing its Strattice surgical mesh, and that those skipped steps caused a hernia to reoccur and ultimately resulted in the loss of her independence.
Counsel for the plaintiff said that the company “chased after money without doing their due diligence” and, after reminding jurors of a study shown during trial that found 20%-30% recurrence rates in patients with Strattice mesh, that Strattice has “all the recurrence rates, but no benefits.”
