We had a settlement for a young woman in her 20s who was proving impossible to track down. We found her roommate, her sister, her friends, her neighbors, and everyone told us the same story. She had gone into hiding from an abusive boyfriend, and no one had a clue where she was nor how to reach her.
Eventually, we found her mother, who knew something that the others didn’t. Her daughter worked as a dancer at a gentlemen’s club. She didn’t know which club, but she gave us the alias her daughter went by at the club.
There were 4 cities in the vicinity that had multiple strip clubs. We called each and every one of them at all hours of the day, as most of them were open 24/7.
We were able to narrow down the club where she danced using her stage name, but she had instructed everyone not to give out any of her information for fear of her abusive boyfriend.
We reached out to the owner of the club and convinced him that we were trying to help this young woman and that she would benefit from getting in touch with us.
